Return and Refund Policy

At Thinking Robot, we take pride in the quality of our electronics kits and IoT hardware. However, due to the highly sensitive nature of microcontrollers, custom PCBs, and bare electronic components, we have a strict policy regarding returns.
1. General No-Return Policy
We do not accept standard returns or exchanges on any electronic components or DIY kits.
Because microcontrollers and sensors can be easily damaged by incorrect voltage, electrostatic discharge (ESD), or improper soldering, we cannot guarantee the integrity of a component once it has left our facility and been handled. Therefore, all standard sales are final. We do not process general returns for "change of mind" or incorrect orders.
2. Rare Exceptions (Damaged or Defective Goods)
We will only consider returns or replacements in extremely rare cases. Your order may qualify for an exception strictly if:
- The product was physically damaged during shipping and transit.
- The item is demonstrably defective out of the box (Dead on Arrival) before any soldering, wiring, or powering attempts have been made.
- You received the completely wrong item by mistake.
3. How to Report a Critical Issue
Mandatory Technical Verification
If you believe your situation qualifies for an exception, you must contact us within 3 days of receiving your order. Do not ship any items back to us without prior authorization.

When contacting us, you must provide your order number and clear, high-resolution photos or videos of the component and packaging.
4. Verification and Resolution Process
- Once you contact us, our technical team will review your photos and the described issue.
- If the engineering team verifies that the damage or defect is valid and was not caused by user error (e.g., short circuits, ESD, improper power supply), we will authorize the return.
- Depending on the situation and inventory, we will either dispatch a replacement unit or issue a refund.
- Approved refunds will be processed back to your original payment method within 5-7 business days.
