With a holding torque of 4.2 kg-cm and a 1.8-degree step angle, this bipolar stepper motor is the perfect driving force for custom 3D printers, CNC engraving machines, and advanced robotic arms.Key Features:High Precision: 200 steps per revolution (1.8° per step) ensures incredibly accurate and repeatable movements.Excellent Holding Torque: Provides 4.2 kg-cm of holding torque to keep heavy loads steady.Standardized Form Factor: Universally compatible 42x42mm NEMA 17 faceplate makes mounting easy across endless DIY projects.Plug & Play Wiring: Features a detachable 4-wire, 1-meter jumper cable for hassle-free connection to motor drivers.
Overview
The NEMA 17 Stepper Motor is the backbone of the maker movement. If you are building a RepRap 3D printer, a custom laser engraver, or a robotic actuator that requires exact positioning, this is the motor you need.
Unlike standard DC motors that spin continuously, stepper motors move in discrete, exact steps. By sending electrical pulses to the coils via a driver board (like the A4988 or DRV8825), you can control the speed, rotation angle, and holding position with incredible accuracy—without needing complex rotary encoders or closed-loop feedback systems.

Wiring & Driver Compatibility
This motor comes with a standard 4-pin female connector (JST/Dupont style) designed to plug directly into CNC shields and stepper drivers.
Standard Coil Pairing:
- Coil A: Black & Green (or Red & Blue depending on the batch)
- Coil B: Red & Blue (or Black & Green) (Always verify coil pairs with a multimeter by checking for continuity before hooking them up to your driver.)
Recommended Drivers: To get the most out of this motor, we highly recommend driving it with an A4988 or a DRV8825 stepper motor driver. For industrial applications requiring higher voltage and smoother microstepping, pair it with a TB6600.
⚠️ Important Warning: Never disconnect or connect the stepper motor wires while the driver is powered on. Doing so will create a massive voltage spike that will instantly destroy your stepper motor driver IC!
Standard Applications
- 3D Printers: Driving the X, Y, and Z axes, as well as the filament extruder.
- CNC Machines: Powering desktop milling machines and laser cutters.
- Camera Sliders: Providing ultra-smooth, programmable panning for photography.
- Automated Dispensers: Precise fluid pumping in peristaltic pump setups.
