The IR Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor is a fundamental component for any automated rover or smart vehicle. It utilizes an infrared transmitter and receiver pair to bounce light off objects, making it incredibly effective for close-range detection, rapid edge-avoidance maneuvers, and line-following tasks. With a built-in potentiometer, you can easily fine-tune the detection distance to perfectly suit your custom 4-wheel robotic chassis or tabletop rovers. It outputs a simple, clean digital signal directly to your microcontroller, ensuring rapid response times when your robot is navigating complex mazes. Detection Range: 2cm to 30cm (Adjustable) Output Type: Digital (High/Low) Operating Voltage: 3.3V - 5V

Detailed Specifications

The IR Obstacle Avoidance Sensor works by continuously emitting infrared light; when this light hits an obstacle, it reflects back into the receiver tube. An onboard comparator circuit processes this reflection and instantly pulls the digital output pin low, triggering the onboard green indicator LED. It is highly responsive and operates smoothly on both 3.3V and 5V logic, making it universally compatible with almost any microcontroller.
