If you are building a drone, an autonomous rover, or a vehicle tracker (like the ones used in VHMS), you need GPS. The NEO-6M is the industry standard for hobbyist and pro-sumer positioning. Unlike simpler sensors, this module communicates via UART (Serial), sending standard NMEA sentences that are easy to parse with libraries like TinyGPS++. It features an onboard EEPROM to save configuration settings and a backup battery that keeps the satellite data stored when power is cut, allowing for a "Hot Start" (getting a GPS lock in seconds instead of minutes) when turned back on.
